The LaMaire Channel is a waterway between the Antarctic Peninsula on one side and on of the many islands on the other. It is a total of 7 miles long and 1 mile wide. On a continent of incomparable beauty, this was incredible and totally indescribable. What the statistics of length and width don’t tell you is what exactly is on either side. These are towering rocky spires of mountains on either side whose rock which are covered with glaciers crawling down to the waters edge where they deposit countless icebergs.
What an amazing end to an incredible day!
